LIVING 'N NY©

Fully utilizing the city of New York and its surroundings as the show’s set, the series takes 6 young foreign co-nationals and follows them as their careers unfold in 6 different and diverse industries of which New York is the world capital (i.e. photography, fashion, finance, filmmaking, acting, art, broadcasting and more).

The professional and personal experiences that these young hopefuls will encounter as they strive to achieve their dreams, coupled with their struggles, successes and failures, are the ultimate focus of the show. The producer will assign a special tutor who will oversee each participant’s progress in their respective career fields. The tutors are prominent co-nationals in their chosen field.

The series has been intentionally formatted so that similar series, from various countries, can be produced simultaneously by the team in New York. For the audience watching the series, the thrill of seeing their compatriots prominently featured in New York will be a huge draw -especially for those viewers who nurture the same dreams and ambitions of our protagonists.

EL CHAPO'S WAR

U.S. authorities have placed a $5 million bounty on his head, but he is still free. He sweeps into restaurants with his heavily armed bodyguards, terrifies the customers, eats, and then pays the check for everyone. He is a generous Robin Hood to the locals; he is a savage killer to his enemies. He is captured, then escapes from prison. Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, the head of the powerful Sinaloa cartel, is the most wanted man in the Mexican narco-war.

El Chapo’s War looks at the stunning rise of a man who is transforming Mexico into a no man’s land. Through eyewitness accounts, legal documents, interviews with experts and law enforcement officials, the filmmakers chronicle Guzman’s rise to power without loosing sight of the big picture: the shocking wave of violence wracking Mexican society.

THE COURT

The 36th District in Detroit is the busiest eviction court in the Unites States, where thousands of American families loose their homes at a pace of 50 per day.
The proceedings of the court appear as in a theater, with the same drama performed day in and day out with different actors.

Our crew will document several days at the 36th District Court so that the audience feels as though they could be sitting in this court, a part of this community. Solid, steady camera shots; clean, concise audio; unobtrusive edits. There is no agenda but to present the viewer with an understanding of the difficulties faced by all involved, from home owner to judge to mortgage lender, to preserve the American Dream.

"NDRANGHETA: THE LIQUID MAFIA

Italian prosecutor Nicola Gratteri has an ambitious goal: to bring one of the world’s most powerful criminal organizations to its knees. He attended the same schools as the men he now prosecutes; he knows their culture, their rituals and their business methods. Gratteri’s drive to destroy their organization has earned him the dangerous distinction of being ‘Ndrangheta’s number one enemy.

This investigative documentary will follow Nicola Gratteri on his missions and into the courts. To expose the international networks of the Calabrian mafia, our crew will travel to Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, North and South America and Germany. Contemporary interviews, audio recordings, never-before-seen footage from the archives of Italian and international law enforcement, and dramatic recreations of ‘Ndrangheta’s initiation rituals and criminal summits.

ASIA STORIES

Asia Stories explores events in the developing hotspots of Asia that pit the powerful against the powerless, from the point of view of those whose stories are often omitted from the mainstream. In this 4-part examination, the filmmakers take us inside a Hindu temple caught in the middle of a war between Thailand and Cambodia; to the towns decimated by the man-made “mud volcanoes” of Java; to live with the Rohingya refugees, unwelcome in both Burma and Bangladesh; and finally to a Chinese casino near the Laotian border that is causing growing pains for the local community caught in the unavoidable path towards “progress”.

Doab is a fictional Afghan town standing in the vast desert just outside Palm Springs, Southern California, built to serve as an immersive training session for US soldiers. Winning a war, Marines officials say, is not just a matter of military supremacy but also of cultural sensitivity. The town is complete with a mosque and hundreds of Afghan role-players who are helping Americans learn to win the hearts and minds of the people of Afghanistan.
